Air Jordan is one of the most popular brands of
shoes ever released. Little did Nike know in 1985
that Micheal Jordan would become one of the most
successful basketball players of all time and the
shoes would follow on a similar path. Since 1985,
the Air Jordan brand has introduced a new model of
their basketball kicks every year. The 1st release
of Air Jordan shoes (also known as 'Jordans') were
called the Air Jordan I (1). The styles go from 1
to 23 (I to XXIII) and continue with the models
2009 and 2010. Micheal Jordan wore the # 23 for a
good portion of his NBA career, which was the
reason why the models only go up to 23 and then
continue in a different format. All of the models
and styles of shoes have their own unique
characteristics which make them all very sought
after footwear. Each model of shoe has its own
story behind it. Below is one quick and unique
fact about each Jordan Model.

NBA rookie season. II - Only basketball shoe to
feature faux lizard skin. III - A major reason to
the Brand's overall success. IV - 1st to be

year. XI - This model is known to be the most
popular in the Jordan shoe line. XII - The
Japanese Rising Sun flag played a big role in the
design of this shoe. XIII - You may not be able to
tell by just looking at it, but this design was
inspired by a panther. XIV - Metal lace tips on
this model gave the shoe a nice finish. XV - A
tongue that stuck out was a unique feature with
these kicks. XVI - Featured a unique gaiter/shroud
that covers the shoe and that can be removed to
give the shoe a brand new look. XVII - First shoe
released since Jordan's 2nd return to the NBA
playing for the Washington Wizards. XVIII - Design

the planet and it was the inspiration behind the
design of this model. XX - During its marketing
campaign, "Welcome to the future" was a major
slogan for the Jordan 20. XXI - Very simple design
compared to the other Jordan models. XXII -
Released on the forty-fourth birthday of the man
who inspired the creation of this brand. XXIII -
This was a landmark edition for the shoe due to
the fact that it was #23 in the Jordan line which
was the same number that Micheal wore through much
of his playing career. 2009 - First model not
named in numerical order. 2010 - Twenty-five
successful years of this legendary brand. Other
models from the line include the Dub Zeros. The
Dub Zeros were released in 2005 and are a
collection of many different shoes in one. They
feature the most recognizable pieces of the most
famous shoes.
The models of Air Jordan shoes that have been
recreated for sale to the general public are
called 'Retro' models. Some people like to collect
these shoes and never actually wear them. It
doesn't matter if you wear them for basketball,
wear them casually, or are a collector, the Jordan
brand is always a top choice for people around the
world looking for footwear. Wearing the Jordan
brand has become a fashion statement. With
hundreds of styles available, there is a shoe for
everyone.
